**The mess hall was a simple room, plain and inviting. Somewhat long oak tables ran the length of the small hall, accompanied by a variety of mismatched chairs. Along the wall facing the windows was a large fireplace that emitted a welcoming glow. A counter marked the divide between kitchen and the dining area. It was here that food was served.
Laylark had taken up his habitual place by a window, but the tug of the fire was just too strong and was soon seated in a comfortable chair basked in warmth, curling up into the tattered midnight cloak on his shoulders. In his paws he clutched a mug of tea, from which he took a large gulp before continuing to stare placidly into the fire.*

*Finnerator entered the new mess hall and looked around, interested. She was pleased that their division would have their own to eat and socialize in and it appeared quite satisfactory to her overall. She went to the counter and ordered a mug of cider from whomever was in charge of the kitchens (cook, bartender, ?). The ottermaid saw the other two beasts sitting by the fire and decided to join them*
*She saluted to Laylark before taking a seat down on one of the chairs by the welcoming fire. Finnerator took a sip from her drink before she spoke* So how are things going Commander? *The otter asked to start some kind of conversation*

**Laylark's eyes were inevitably drawn to the fire. The warm golden glow it cast was reflected in his eyes, both glazed over in thought. Almost subconsciously he sipped his tea, still hypnotized by the flame.** "You don't mind if I sit with you do you commander?"**The fox almost jumped at the mouse's voice. He looked up to see the warrior he recognized as Raiden. Though he did not know him well, he at least knew him, and that was a start.** Oh, er... sure. **His mumbled reply was barely audible and he wasn't quite sure whether he was even heard or not. Whatever the case, he did not repeat himself in fear of sounding stupid. His chain of thought was broken yet again however by a voice he did not recognize.** "So how are things going Commander?"**Laylark looked up to see a female otter. She was vaguely familiar but he couldn't recall her name. He was sure her name starter with an 'f' but he could never be sure.** F-fine... **Once again his reply was muttered, but this time into his mug. He knew he wouldn't be able to make any friends if he was always so shy, but he was always shy around people who weren't friends. Rather than elaborating on his response he clutched his mug tighter and lowered his muzzle until he was staring down at his tea.** OOC: Taha, no offence meant to you Finn. I just don't think I've really rped with you before.

**Raiden watched Laylarks response, reilising he had disturbed the commander, he sat at the oposite end of the table.**
Thanks commander, I'm sorry that I disturbed you.

**Shadow-Risk sighed softly as she glided quietly into the room. Her cloak was replaced by a lighter, more functional cape of the same colour that gently billowed and rustled with her movements. It was clasped at her neck by a simple image of a black rose.
Her dark green-grey eyes searched the vast room, over the empty oak tables, past the kitchen quarters, finally resting on the small collection of beasts sitting beside the fireplace. Her eye caught on one in particular... Her shy, humble commander. Smiling softly and giving the faintest chuckle, she padded nearer to her comrades and stood awkwardly outside of their formation… Uncertain whether to intrude or not. He seems quite distracted… I prob‘ly shouldn‘t disturb him… Maybe I should just wait here… Subconsciously fidgeting with her paws, she adverted her eyes in an attempt to distract herself and focused her concentration on the mantle piece of the large fireplace while enjoying the warmth of the fire‘s dancing flame.**

*Finnerator grinned slightly at his stuttered response. It reminded her of her rather timid younger brother. Sitting back in the chair by the fire, she turned to the other beast in the room, deciding that the commander didn't want to be bothered right at the moment. She didn't recognize the mouse at the table, but was willing to meet someone new. They'd probably end up meeting anyway being in the same division. So Finnerator rose from her seat and sat down by the other who had greeted Laylark* Hi, my name's Finnerator Rudderbow.
(OOC: None taken, I don't we have rped together before so it makes perfect sense.)

OOC: Raiden's a mouse. BIC: **At Raiden's apology, Laylark couldn't help but feel guilty. Before he could splutter out a response however, the otter rose and sat by said mouse. Now he was feeling genuinely rude.** Um, I, er, I didn't mean- **He was cut off as the creeping feeling of having someone behind him spread up his spine. He looked up over the back of his chair to see none other than Shadow-Risk, a fox he was well acquainted with. Ever so slowly, a grin spread across his muzzle, the same lopsided grin that often showed on his features.** H- hi. **He didn't know why, but all of a sudden, he felt awful embarrassed.**

Nice to meet you Finnerator, I'm Raiden, Raiden Uriel Silversword VII, last of the Silversword line...
**Noticing Laylark's embaresment, he rolled his eyes, before giving some encourageing words.**
Commander, you need to find some confidence in yourself, belive in yourself, and the others will follow you even to the hell's gates, I would follow you there now, but you need to be self-confidence.

*Finnerator's curiousity was aroused at Raiden's reply*
last of the Silversword line...
*The otter wondered how why what sounded to be a long lived family from Silversword VII could be ended. Before she got a chance to ask, though, Raiden spoke to Laylark about his apparent shyness. The sea otter backed up the mouse's words with a nod* He's right, you know. You'll have to gain some self confidence if you want others to have confidence in you as a commander. *Finnerator pointed out*

Are you curious about my family Finnerator? I am the VII beast of the clan to bear my name, only in times of crisis had a hero emerged, each of those heros had bore my name; Raiden Silversword. I know not of an impernding crisis, but it is always part of the prophercy;
At the comming of the fell moon shadow, there will rise a hero, outcast, exile of the clan, of royal blood, he will rise to save his home from the tyrant, and the vermin, but he will see tragerdy, but it will make him strong, as it has been before, as it shall always be
I have seen the fore of it, I rid my clan of the tyrant, my farther, I lost my brother and sister to him becomeing exile, but I know not the last of it. I am the last of my family, the last of my clan, I am the last of the Silversword blood, but I am not wholely a warrior, I am peaceful alot more in my heart, I wished to be a musician, but it was not to be...

*Apparently Raiden was good at reading people because Finnerator was in fact wondering about his history. She was rather surprised at Raiden's bluntness about his past, but Raiden's story did answer her questions. The otter sympathized with him when he spoke of the harsh history* I'm glad I'll never have to fight with my own family. Last I checked they were all on the straight and narrow. *The part about wishing to be a musician was more something that Finnerator could relate with* So do you play an instrument?

*Finnerator nodded with interest* The fiddle, eh? I play the ottercordion, but recently I've been scratching away at the fiddle. Practice makes perfect I suppose. *The otter shrugged when Raiden started talking about his name. It really made little difference to her what his full name was. She had enough trouble remembering first names*
