OOC: Oh how I wish I could RP animals blushing! ^^ ... But it wouldn't work through the fur... *pouts* OOC: homg, I know. :C BIC: Sure! **Laylark leaped from his chair as he spoke, stumbling a bit before recovering. Then he realized how eager he must seem. With a nervous little cough he felt himself burn red hot and he was sure the skin beneath his fur matched said feeling. Luckily no one could see. The tall fox loped over to the kitchen, trying to avoid eye contact with anyone, having noticed Tritan's little display. He was sure he could guess what he meant, and he bit his lip in embarrassment.**

*Finnerator admired Songwind's clear voice. It wasn't often that one came across someone who could really sing well. The ottermaid was surprised when the vocalist began singing again, for she had no idea that Maggie in the Woods had lyrics to it. Learn somethin' new everyday I suppose, Finnerator thought with a grin. She held out her last note until the bellows of the accordion were fully stretched out. To answer Song's question, Finnerator pointed towards the kitchens as she closed the bellows of her accordion* I'm not sure who's running the place, but you'll probably find something to drink over there.

**Song nods and scampers over. She returns shortly after wiping her lips with the back of a sleeve.**

*Tritan, astounded by the talent of the young squirrelmaid, had had memories of his seafaring days stirring back into his head. He leaned over to Songwind.* Yew wanna hear a ditty I composed along the sea? Don' ye worry, I didn't make it bloddthirsty shanty! *He smiled as he took the flute to his lips and started playing the introduction.*
Ah, see, that's how the song goes, but I sing like a toad wid a whoppin' jelly in 'is mouth. Here're the words:
"You tired beasts that have been working all day, We all know you have somethin' to say, We know that you have not rested in the least, So why don' we all organize a big feast!
It'll fill yew up, you'll be good an' strong, You'll certainly be happy that you came along. Oh me, oh my, the taste will be true, Oh me, oh my, we have so much to do!
We have pots 'n' pans to prepare, And to be cooked wid a natural flair Are flans an' breads an' everything nice To be served before the cakes an' pies!
When the feast is done we all go to bed, The food is gone and that's good to be said, Because tomorrow at the sun's early ray, You are good 'n' strong for another day!"
*He paused, looking at Songwind*
D'ye think you c'n do it?

*Finnerator had picked up on the tune after the first couple of verses of Tritan's song and played quietly in the background of Tritan's singing. It was a pretty funny song, preparing a feast after a hard day, then waking up early in the morning. The ottermaid chuckled in appreciation of the song's irony as it finished* I always love a song about a feast.

OOC: That song was so fun to compose! XD BIC:
*Tritan watched Finnerator as she played her instrument in accompaniment of his words. He smiled at the fact that she played completely by ear and that she had picked up the tune in a matter of seconds.*
Yeah, me too. Though livin' at sea y'get mostly simple meals an' hardtack scoff on the go, but feasts, a real sit-down feast is something to appreciate. So songs about feasts take place for all the feasts I'm not gettin'!

*Rachelle bounds into the room, her long dark hair windswept and wet. She smiles cheerfully at those seated around the room, and shakes her head to rid herself of the water.* Whew! Sure it wet out there. Only an otter could swim through that! *She plops down in a chair, near Songwind.* You're Songwind, right? I've never really talked to you, but I know you write good songs! *She smiles widely.* I'm a poet, personally. But, to each their own, right? *She continues to babble to the squirrel, not really sure if she is listening or not.*

**Song smiles at Rachelle, Hearing most of what she said, the rest goes right over her head. Still smiling she flicks a piece of water at the otter. She waits for the conversation to slow a little so she can get a word in.** Why don't you give me a poem? I could give it a tune?

*Finnerator nodded empathetically* Aye, I know what you mean. There's really nothing like a good feast. *As she spoke, she recalled the legendary Redwall feasts, many of which she had partaken in. The tables heaped with indescribably delicious food....* It's been a while since I've attended one.

*Rachelle looks at Finnerator, and grins.* I can't cook that well either. I could burn salad, I'm so bad. *She rolls her eyes, and turns back to Songwind.* Well, I am on RAG, and I know you are too... Some of my best poetry is up there.
OOC: Actually, on RAG, I'm Brooksong. ;D

*Rachelle shrugs.* Sing one of your personal favorites. I'd like to hear it. *Her ears perk up, and she listens intently.* OOC: Yeah, that's me too.

OOC. Cool.
BIC. **Song nods and lets out a few scales to warm up, then she bursts into song.**
By my friends I am surronded, And Yet I am confounded, Why somebeasts aren't happy, Ever, or at all, I don't know why I'm bothered, I can't see why I know, I just sometimes think of those beasts laid low.
