[Clothing:]
Reynie is the sort of person who judges on appearances. Thus, he dresses in a style that he believes no one could judge him for. Everywhere he goes, no matter where his destination lies, the otter wears a faded green tunic with a black hood. Sometimes, however, when he wants to dress nicer, he digs into his old, wooden sea chest and pulls out a gray, felt cloak. It has a pocket on the side for coins, pockets on the inside for things he wishes to hide, et cetera. He has little need to hide anything, for he dislikes keeping things secrets. Reynard tells you how he feels without a second thought; if he doesn't like something, he has no obligation to pretend the opposite. The sea otter relishes in his own style, sometimes adding an old black pirate hat or a necklace. When on the sea, however, he wears the green tunic with a black bandana wrapped around his forehead and tied between his ears. Also, he wears black gauntlets on his paws, matching with his large black combat boots.
[Weapons:]
In obligation to the dignity of all those who consider themselves warriors, Reynie wields two blades. The first -- and his primary selection -- is a long Cinqueda. A Cinqueda, or "Five Fingers," is a heavy blade about forty-five centimeters in length. He carries it in place of a dagger, dirk, or sword, for he finds the exquisite design above the handle enchanting. Not only does he enjoy fighting with it, Reynard simply loves to relish in the unique craftsmanship. However, he also carries with him -- strapped to his back -- a Seax. The seax has a long, red handle with a golden pommel above it, shining next to the long, thirty-four centimeter blade. It is not very long, to be sure, but it serves its purpose well - to protect those who require protection. Reynie is appreciative of freedom; he enjoys having the right to wield arms, and the fact that he has a different weapon than others. His Cinqueda and Seax are two very, very unusual weapons in which he entrusts his life.
[Appearance:]
Most sea otters weigh between thirty and ninety pounds, and it appears that Reynard is the median. He stands at average height with an exceptionally thick coat of fur, his weight normally staying around fifty-nine to sixty-two pounds, depending on where he is. If staying at Redwall Abbey, the sea otter is usually enjoying himself with Hotroot Soup and puts on some extra weight. However, if he's on the sea or in the woods training, he slims down to the high fifties. Unfortunately, though, he doesn't take training seriously, normally avoiding the harder things. All he wants to do is play with his Cinqueda and sail on a ship. The sea otter has a dark coat of fur, with tinges of light brown and tan steaking down his back. A wet, small black nose sits on his face while a long, hardened rudder stretched back out. Reynie doesn't have the strongest of builds, but has a strong backbone and can work on anything in a ship. However, while most otters have broad shoulders and brawny appearances, his body is no more impressive than that of a squirrel. Nothing is too special about his appearance except for his eyes. His eyes are a chocolate brown, swirling with deeper hues of black, gray, and light brown until they all clash together, meeting in the middle to create a small black pupil.
[Good Points:]
Reynard is the son of a poet, thus getting his name and likes to continue that tradition. When he was young, his father taught him how to read and write. Thus, he is now a literate sailor, enjoying to read and write poetry, mixing and mashing the styles of other poets to create his own form. He usually writes in sonnets, which are fourteen line poems deep in imagery, and is actually a rather talented writer. However, this spontaneity is usually bottled up by his duties as a sailor and warrior. The sea otter is, by race, a talented seafarer, and he enjoys it quite a bit. Although he is not especially or exceptionally strong, he is strong enough to drop an anchor and pull them up, spinning the wheel and such. Also, as said before, he loves his two unique blades. Thus, he practices them often, honing his skills until he is a specially talented fighter.
[Bad Points]
Reynard is brutally honest; he will tell you how he feels no matter the situation. He's honest to the point where it's a little hurtful; he likes to joke around and such, too, which can get annoying when people are trying to be serious and get work done. The otter is playful to the point of annoyance, has a rather large ego, and is the common, immature young person. He believes himself to be right and is quite stubborn; all in all, if you aren't in a good moon, you may have the desire to slap Reynie upside the head.
