Name: Racko Riverrider
Species: Otter
Gender: Male
Age: Twenty-four (seven-seasons younger than deceased brother, Erksta)
Appearance:
A matted, unbathed chesnut brown coat is accompanied by a creamy white underbelly. Racko has dark golden brown eyes, the fur around his face seemingly lighter than the rest. His fur gets darker as you move back, almost dark brown back at the rudder. The otter is tall, sinewy, and lean, but he isn't incredibly muscular. Racko's paws are marred and calloused from seasons of manual labor, as he used to load cargo onto ships at a port west of Salamandastron; his father was a boatbuilder, but he was always more fascinated with actually sailing, leading to his goal of one day having his own ship. Being a generally positive fellow, he is typically seen grinning, which can sometimes hide his strong determination.
Weapons/Equipment:
Racko wears a common lincoln green tunic; he does not dress to impress anyone, as he finds any ornate or elaborate to fabric to be boastful. Preferring comfort over style, the lincoln green tunic is accompanied by a brown twine belt with a silver buckle. A sling is wound around his shoulder, along with a pouch of pebbles at his side. Being a sailor, his clothes are typically grubby; his excuse is generally that his family grew up in a mining colony, so he didn't have a great example for hygiene, but that's a blatant lie. Bouncing between ships, he only carries his equipment with him while on land. Even then, it is only a meager haversack with enough food for two days (mostly watercress, as he is very partial to it), a cloak, a bedding roll, and an extra tunic.
As stated above, the otter carries a sling and a pouch of stones, but that is all. He wasn't raised to be a warrior, and has generally stayed away from fighting in general, but he has good aim and is talented with a sling, so he keeps it with him. Racko is aware of the dangers while at sea, but he has faith in what he calls "The Greater Good" and places his hopes in that, although he never discusses it with anyone except those he has deep respect for.
Strengths:
• Good Aim ; Racko has decent ability with a sling, resulting from his boredom while on break from loading cargo.
• Rack, among other sailing aspects, is a very good helmsbeast, which he enjoys the most.
• The otter is a positive, generally kind person, but he can be sarcastic at times.
Weaknesses:
• Racko, when it comes to navigation, is clueless. He can be a talented helmsbeast, but he needs a navigator nearby to inform him.
• The otter is illiterate, and isn't incredible with words in general.
• When annoyed, he can be sarcastic, and come across as smug and quite rude.
