* Mary nodded, and went back to her target practice. Hopefully Drasil wouldn't leave so soon like Rowan did. Tht would be it pity. It's nice, having someone to talk to.*

*He left his stilettos on the target and pondered for a while. Then a smile spread across his face as he took out his chisel and icebox.* Mary, Yggdrasil be a fair iceworker. I have seldom not wanted to do this in my life. 'Tis a project others consider foolishness. It would bring advantages when battle should commence. *He shuffled around.* Working I am on an ice arrowhead. *He opened his icebox and showed Mary a finely crafted arrowhead made of ice.*

Huh?* Mary was suprised by the words, ice arrowhead, and looked, right as she let go of the arrow. Her eyes grew wide, and she didn't even look to see where her arrow landed. * Wow... that's very nice... but if its' made of ice, why dosnt' it melt?

*Yggdrasil hurriedly put the arrowhead into his icebox.* This 'ere icebox is the insulator for the arrowhead. Think of the possibilities: We could freeze poison and make'em into heads for arrows, or just plain ice would cause pain on the wound.

* Mary nods slowly, showing her knowlege.* Err... I suppose it's rather useful. I've never heard of anybeast doing that before.

*Yggdrasil tapped the side of his snout.* That's 'cause Yggdrasil is the first one to try it. *He seemed embarrased about something and shuffled around.* Could Yggdrasil borrow an arrow?

*Mary got a arrow out of its' quiver and held it out to him with the point towards her.*

*Eyes glinting happily, the lemming snatched the arrow from Mary's paw and tore off the point without ceremony. He opened his icebox and quickly pulled out the ice arrowhead, sprinkled salt in the hole and fitted it nicely onto the shaft. He presented the arrow to Mary with a huge grin not customary to him pasted on his whiskers.*
You test d'arrow for Yggdrasil? See if aerodynamic calculations not be wrong.

* Mary took it, trying to figure out exactly what aerodynamic means in the first place, then put it on her bowstring, drew back, aimed, and fired, just like any other arrow.* OOC: I'm not going to be the one to judge whether it works or not. Go right ahead and say where it lands.

*Yggdrasil stared in complete disappointment as the arrow thudded into the soft earth beside the target. Resolutely he went and gathered the arrow and took off the point. He discarded the pointless arrow (oh my god, I just made a pun!^^) and scratched it in spirals while modifying the barbs. To finish, he sharpened it a little more and put it on the recently picked up arrow.*
Okay, the modifs' done. this is what Yggdrasil do. First he balance the point by deltoid-shaping the barbs. Then he decrease the airflux and friction by colimaçoning the point. The flattenmore will help it cut the air. Now you try it.

* Mary looked confused. It was a pity she hadn't stayed at abbey school long enough to learn all of this. It was so confusing. All those long words, they were wo complicated. She said slowly as she took the arrow.* Right. * She put it to her bowstring again, and drew back. She looked along the arrow. In the very least she shoudl hit the target. If not... why, she'll fix it her self,a dn make it work, even if she has to stand with her nose to the target! The mousemaid sighted the target, and let go, letting out a breath.*
OOC: Same procedure as last time

*His eyes followed the arrow as it landed in the exact middle of the target, the fine ice cutting into the wood and firmly gripping its barbs into it. Yggdrasil jumped in jubilation and ran to the target, pulling out the arrow but leaving the point in the wood. Regardless of this, he searched through his icebox and took out another, making the same modifications. He sprinkled some salt on that one, too, and fitted it onto the arrow.*
Now go forty footpaces back and try again.

* Mary stepped back, counting under her breath. When she was 40 paces back, she looked. Funny, it looked so much farther. She shrugged, and fitted the arrow on to her bowstring, and did the exact same thing as before. sHe shot.*

*The arrow flew straight to the middle again and Yggdrasil jumped for joy. He hadn't been this happy in seasons. He ran to Mary and hugged her.* It works! It works!

Err...* Mary looked at Drasil, and said.* Yes, it works all right. Now will you let go of me?
