OOC: Actually, Raiden, I took a detour to the other side of the path and am now just returning, I'm not in the fight yet, but I will be. BIC: *Nadia heaved herself up out of the ditch, dusting her fur off as she hurried back over to where the tired Song was waiting on the log along with Zahi. By now, Raiden, Taith, and Tasna had the vermin well in paw. It sounded as if they were just taking care of the last few. The bushes rustled and a stray rat ran out of the fight, away from the yelling mouse with the big sword, onto the path. It was a bad decision on his part, as he ended up a few feet from Nadia. Her sword still drawn, the cat pounced. Working hard to cover his suprise, the rat raised his own blade, but the small feline was already inside his guard. Grabbing his shoulder and digging her claws into it, she pulled the rat onto her stabbing sword. Nadia shook the rat off, pulling her dripping blade out of the now dead flesh. She kicked the carcass into the ditch and turned to Zahi and Song.* We have a bigger problem than those rodents that Rai, Tasna, and Taith are taking care of. *She motioned with her paw to further down the path.* Up there, about 50 meters, is another group. They're also just waiting. However, it's larger. I counted around a score. Plus, they have a few archers in their midst and they have a pretty good vantage point of the path.

*After disposing of another, Tasna went after a rather large stoat who carried a cutlass in his right hand. As the otter approached him he lifted it hight into the air and brought it down at Tasna's skull. She dodged to the right and rolled behind him. Before the idiot could realize where his foe had gone, Tasna lashed a leg out at the back of his knees. She hit right on the perfect spot. The stoat yelled as his knees buckled, sending him backwards onto the ground. His cutlass stuck onto a thick tree branch, but didn't fall with him. She pinned him with the tip of her sword on his chest. The vermin looked at her with exceeding surprise.*
What's so surprising?
*With that she lifted the cutlass and stabbed him in his chest. She turned to Raiden and spoke with a laughing voice.* It's not so much as the bloodshed, it's where the blood lands. *Tasna looked around to see if there were any more vermin. The only two left were fighting with Taith and Raiden.* I'll report to Song Rai. *The otter took off back to where Song, Zahi and Taith were.* Well, the vermin are gone, so we can get back to our journey.

Maybe... Do you know how long it takes to clean dried red stuff from armour and fur? A long time I can tell you.
**Dropping the last rat from the party as she tried to flee with a swift slash, Raiden let out a howl of rage as an arrow lossed off from one of the archers struck one of the pins holding his claok to his armour.**
RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!!
**Heedless of bushes and arrows, the mouse charged straight towards the larger band of foes.**
AVE IMPERIUM!
**While feeling the curse-beast of his clan's bloodcurse stir, the mouse ignored it, prefering to use his own rage to the beast's. As he thundered into the vermin band, several arrows flew towards the vermin's front ranks.**
None of you should've done that scum. You've just damaged part of his past... Part that he'd rather keep.
**Zahi loosed off another shaft from her bow, as she slowly made her way towards her embattled husband. Like Raiden, she felt the bloodcurse stir within her mind. Knowing what could befall her, Zahi also refused to submit to the beast.**
Tasna! Nadia! A little help if you please?!?

*As soon as the arrows started falling, Nadia knew she had to do something about it, what with Raiden charging full on into the frey. She nodded towards Taith and Tasna.*
One of you want to come with me? I'm going to circle around behind the vermin.
*Nadia crossed the path again, this time leaping over the ditch instead of traveling along it. She ran through the forest, picking her footing precisely to minimize the noise she would make. Ah, there they are. Right where I left them. Coming up on the back of the group, Nadia did not let out a war cry just yet. Why waste the element of suprise? She saw the archers, there were three of them. At least the vermin group had enough sense to keep its archers in the back. But not smart enough to watch their backs. One had already fallen thanks to a well-placed arrow by Zahi. Creeping up behind the remaining two, Nadia raised both her sword and her dagger, holding both blades downwards in her tightly clenched paws. Raising herself up to her full height, she brought the two blades point down on the back of the necks of the two beasts as they sighted along their shafts for the next shot at Raiden. They dropped like stones, one arrow falling to the ground and another one plopping a few feet to the side. Problem solved.*
Nadia approched the rest of the vermin ranks. All who had their backs to her. All that is, except one. Darn it. The rat opened his mouth to yell to his comrades.*
Hey, we've got a ...
*His warning was cut off as Nadia slashed at him with her sword, opening a large gash in his stomach as her dagger blocked a blow from the rat's own sword. Now that her presence was no longer a secret, Nadia let loose with a howl. Her fur was raised, her ears laid back, and her fangs showing. She looked around for Taith or Tasna so that they could watch each other's backs.*
Yeeeeeow. C'mon Raiden. I'm back here. No more arrows for you to worry about. What say we meet somewhere in the middle?

*Tasna followed Nadia to the larger group of vermin. Instead of coming around the back of them, she went to the side and hid in the underbrush. She got down on one knee and inspected her surroundings. The otter was almost completely surrounded by thorn bushes except for a small space in front and behind her. Tasna would not get out of the area quickly without getting stuck with thorns. She shrugged and turned her attention to the others. moved her head left, to check on Raiden and Zahi, and then left to see what Nadia was up to. The otter watched as the cat slew the two archers.
Slowly and silently Tasna took her bow off of her back and drew a arrow. She eyed a particular rat who was close to the front. She pulled back on the string and let go. Without looking to see if she had hit, she grabbed two more arrows and placed them both on her bow. She pulled back and let go, hitting two of the several vermin that looked in her direction. One stood up and threw a knife blindly at where he thought his attacker was. The knife passed Tasna's arm, missing by a forepaw, and landing on the ground behind her.
Smiling at his horrible shot, she grabbed the knife and, without any experience, threw the knife straight out in front of her, hoping that it would hit someone. She heard a yell and saw a vermin fall backwards, his stomach bleeding. Four more vermin had had enough of her attacks and charged at the thorn bushes. With a silent victory, Tasna put her bow back onto her back. She pulled out her cutlass and waited until they were close enough to her hiding spot. She ran through the opening and swung her cutlass across their backs They fell forward onto the thorn bushes and howled with agonizing pain.*
That's what you get, and that's what you deserve. *Tasna looked at the others, who were astonished that a female had caused so much damage to their group.*

Taith had quickly disposed of one of the last that had initially attacked the group, then dashed off to help Nadia and Tasna, coming in as a few vermin tried to reach the cat and otter's backs. She threw a dagger at the weasel in back, hoping to help pick them off before they reached her comrades, but only alerting the horde members to her presence. Several rushed her, but her double knives quickly took care of them. Unable to get the last few in time, she shouted Nadia! Tasna! Behind you!

*At Taith's shout, Nadia quickly took stock of where her two comrades were. Turning, she swiped her sword up, blocking a spear that a ferret was poking at her. She felt metal scrape down her back. There was another vermin behind her. Nadia didn't take the time to look. It felt as if his slash came from a broadsword. It was not a seriously deep cut, but Nadia knew she'd feel the sting and the stiffness after the battle.
She heard the whisteling as the blade came around again. Nadia focused her attention on the spear in front of her. Instead of running away from the long-reaching weapon, the cat hopped forward and inside the ferret's range, pushing hard with her sword against the wood of the spear. She heard a mush behind her as it plunged into the annoying broadsword wielder. Her dagger plunged into the chest of the beast with the spear as he fell back with a screech. Using the falling weasel's body, Nadia propelled herself forward, finally reaching Tasna's side, skirting the thorn bushes.
She wanted to be able to see how bad the cut on her back was, but there wasn't time for that. She dodged a rock that a burly rat had chucked at her, the sharp edge making a cut on her forehead. Nadia bushed the blood away from trickeling into her eye. She shouted at Tasna next to her and Taith who wasn't that far away.*
We need to group up and hit them hard.

*Standing slightly behind Nadia, Tasna's instinct told her to drop her cutlass and catch the rock that came flying at her past Nadia. The rock stung her paws sharply and the coarse grains of it caused her to start bleeding. The otter dropped the rock and watched as a vermin dived for her cutlass.*
Not going to happen...
*Pushing the cutlass behind her, out of her foe's reach, with her boot, she thrust the other out and kicked up, hitting his nose. She heard a crack and cringed. Tasna spun around and grabbed her cutlass. She wiped the blood on her paws on her tunic, which had been stained from earlier. As the otter stood up and turned back to the group, she noticed the long, bloody cut down Nadia's back. The bright red color made Tasna a bit nauseous. She gasped.*
Nadia! Did a vermin get you?

**Giving no apparent sign of hearing Nadia, Raiden slowly turned and began fighting his was to the middle, though the arrow that had made him so angry was still imbeded in the cloak pin.**
Hold still scum! You are easier targets that way!
**Blasting clean through the middle of the vermin, Raiden began to cut down those in the front to prevent them from getting close to Zahi.**
Not for you scum. she's mine.

*Tasna watched as Raiden plundered through the mass of vermin. As he moved closer to the center, vermin filled in behind them from the sides.* They're going to surround them! Nadia! Quickly! *Tasna jumped down from the side of the ditch and landed behind Zahi. Cutlass ready, Tasna walked backwards, following Raiden and Zahi, cutting down the vermin who tried to follow them. Filling with hate for the wretched creatures, Tasna yelled at the top of her lungs something that she didn't even understand. Something that she never would have yelled if she was in her right mind.*
PRO MEUS PROSAPIA!!!
*Tasna felt as if killing all these vermin wasn't enough for her. The otter had never felt hate like this. Slashing her cutlass at each vermin that came within two feet of her, Tasna glared at each vermin with a glare in her eyes saying "You're next"*
*Some vermin began backing away from Tasna. She heard one dare to speak.* This otter girl is crazy!
*Tasna turned to him and lashed her paw out at the ferret's throat. Her claws sunk into his neck. The vermin made a chocking noise and fell to the ground. Tasna ripped her paw away and turned to the others. Many had their jaws dropped. Others were backing away slowly, obviously afraid of her.
Tasna took a threatening step toward the small group of four vermin. Three ran off, the last one was already dead by Tasna's quick move with her cutlass. The otter stared hard at the fox lying on the ground.*

*Nadia could slowly feel her left arem, her dagger arm, stiffening up. It was becoming painful to hold the dagger with a tight enough grasp. The cat knew this was the result of the cut down her back, it seemed to have been a little deeper at her shoulder than she realized. She did her best to ignore it. Her sword paw was still going strong though, as she batted aside another rock and finally reached the vermin who had been throwing them with amazing accuracy. Her sword slashed out, chopping off his offending paw, and spraying Nadia with blood.* It's a good thing I don't have anything on that I wouldn't want stained.
They're going to surround them! Nadia! Quickly!
*Hearing Tasna's frantic shouting, Nadia left off on the vermin. He was already running away, wrapping up the end of his arm. She turned, sticking as close to Tasna as she could as they charged towards Raiden and Zahi. Nadia hissed as another blade came whisteling towards her left side. The vermin seemed to have noticed her wound and were trying to take advantage of it. Little did they know. Nadia sheathed her dagger, knowing she was unable to weild it effectively. It didn't leave her left side defenseless though. As a triumphant rat rushed in, swinging his club with all the grace of a turnip, her left arm flashed out. Her claws sunk into the rat's arm as she twisted the wrist. The club dropped from his paw and the rat sank to his knees as Nadia applied more pressure. Her right arm whipped over with her short sword as she quickly put him out of his howling misery.*
PRO MEUS PROSAPIA!!!
*Tasna's shout drew Nadia's attention back around. The otter seemed to have found some inner fire, much like Raiden's that made her face and voice a fearsome thing to see. Nadia had personally never experienced anything like that. Her fighting style was not driven by passion or rage. No, she preferred the calculating method. Figuring out precisely where to strike and how to move so she could inflict the maximum amount of damage on the enemy, expending as little energy as possible.
Nadia turned so that she and Tasna were back to back. It seemed that all the ones Tasna faced were running away. this left only those vermin between Nadia and Raiden and a few more between Raiden and Zahi. Knowing that Tasna would be there to chase off those vermin who tried to come around behind her, Nadia pressed forward towards Raiden, slashing and swiping with her sword at furry bodies. She didn't care if any of them were killing blows. Wounding worked just as well for her if it meant she would have more breathing space. She nipped the ear of a stoat who had tried to slip under her guard. Her left claws scraped across his face as she sunk her sword into his chest, then used him as a temporary shield against another vermin.*

Family... I have no family but Zahi...
**Several vermin tried to surround the two mice, but the swift sword strokes from Raiden soon saw them off. As the small group saw off the score or so vermin, Raiden struck the last down with brutal and casual ease.**
If that's the last of them, then we should resume our journy.

OOC: Yea, I got it from an online translator too. I don't know much latin. Haha. I've been writing a history on Tasna. You'll understand the cry once I put it on GoM.
BIC:
*With the rage now seeming to disapeare, Tasna turned around on her heel just as Raiden slew the last vermin. She spoke with a little laugh in her voice.* That was...an interesting event. *Tasna stood and looked around. Everywhere there were the dead bodies of vermin. The otter examined the area where she and Nadia had been fighting.* Did I do so much damage?
*Tasna remembered about Nadia's injury. She quickly turned to the cat.* Nadia, you will want to get Song to look at that large cut on you back. *The only place where Tasna was aware she was bleeding was on her paws.*

Taith thrust forward with one of her twin swords, the rat on the other end sliding down to the hilt. Her whispered to her, his breath hot and nasty on her face, and with his last breath, he cursed her. May you..die a horrible nasty...death. She pulled out her sword, and kicked the vermin square in the chest, knocking him down. I've been told to do worse, laddie. She turned to Raiden and the others, wiping any offensive blood or gore from her pretty features. Ah think tha's th' last o' em. Seeing Nadia's injuries, she stood by her, and started to notice the large gash running up and down her arm, almost laid open to the bone, and a small cut where the first rat had bitten her. Ah think Song is goin' te be out new bes' mate!

*Looking around and seeing not a single vermin in sight, Nadia nodded with satisfaction. She wiped her bloody sword blade on some bushes before restoring it to her sheath across her back. Now that the adrenaline of battle was wearing off, the cat started feeling her wounds. The cut above her eye that had been caused by a rock had bled fast at first, but now it had stopped. She just had a lot of crusted blood on her forehead and down the side of her face that she needed to clean up. The real problem was the gash down the left side of her back. She tried flexing her left shoulder muscles, but stopped because of the pain. It would be best if she would just keep it still.
The forest had returned to its normal rustling sounds. If one closed their eyes, you could still imagine a peaceful day. However, the dead bodies all around denied that. Most of the creatures were recognizable as being a specific species. However, some of them were just mounds of fur, bones, and blood, having been first killed and then trampled during the fight. Nadia picked her way around these carefully as she headed out of the forest and onto the path towards Raiden and Zahi. She nodded at Tasna and Taith's words about Song. Yes, she definatly needed a healer now. However, Song hadn't been looking too good when the vermin had first attacked. Nadia hoped that a stray arrow or some vermin that had run off had found the squirrel. The cat replied to her two companions.*
Indeed, Song's going to have some healing to do. C'mon. Let's go find her.
*Too tired to simply hop the ditch, Nadia descended into it and then levered herself out with her good right arm. She didn't reflect back on any of the kills she had made. It wasn't her way to keep count of how many vermin she had killed. She didn't need numbers to prove her skill. She wrinkled her nose as the stench of blood started to waft across the path driven by a light breeze. She turned to address Raiden, who had just said they should continue their journey.*
Don't you think we should do something about those bodies? That's not going to be a pleasant smell by tomorrow. And don't give me anything about them not deserving graves. They need to be buried to decompose properly. They've assaulted enough goodbeasts in their time, they don't need to continue to do so by their stench.
