** Songwind steps onto the steps quietly, she is shy amisdt the argueing going on next to her. Song steps up to the ramparts and goes on tip-paw to look over them. She starts to hum a small melody, then whispers the words.**
Somewhere o'er vale and hill, Sitting silently, You'll find me sitting peacefully, Underneath a tree, Listen for my voice my friend, And trace me to it!
**She smiles softly at herself as she remembers singing that to her brothers as they left the walls at twelve seasons. That had been a year ago. The parting of her last living family still burned her heart. She wishes they would return someday, still considering her 14 season year old twin brothers were still alive. A small tear slid down her face as she seached the place she was standing for her two brothers.**

Rowan is walking along the ramparts when he hears a voice singing a very peaceful song. He quickens his pace, and discovers Songwind. Smiling, he bows. "Very nice, Songwind. I never heard such a nice voice. All I usually hear is war, and the cries of death."

**Song looks at him from her lonely searching. She smiles shyly at the otter as she stands regularly and looks at the otter. ** Well sir, what can one expect? I came from a peaceful abbey, I had baby brothers I once sang too, War has changed my life, My heart, is still full of song though. In fact, my full name is Songwind Rosemelody Goldbrush. Please call me Song though. **She smiles inwardly at her short speach and thinks how she didn't stutter once.**

Alright Song. I'll remember that. *Leans on the battlement, watching the sun cast a golden light on the ramparts. He fingers his steel buckler strapped to his back, before looking at Song again.* Yeah, I grew up where there was always fighting, and I had to learn to survive at a young age. I sometimes wonder how I would of turned out if I had been born at an Abbey.

I don't know about that. I wasn't born at the abbey, just raised there.

"Ohh, really? Well, I still wonder. Alas, I have chosen my path, and am bound to my fate." Rowan sighs, and then musters a smile. "So, changing subject. Err, what brought you up here on the battlements?"

**Song sighs sadly at that question. She had been avoiding speaking of her brothers. She was afraid of bursting out in tears. She bites her bottom lip gently and her top one quivers. Shakily she began her explaination.** I-I-I was looking for my brothers. ** She turns her face away and wipes her eyes with her cloak.**

Rowan turns, and looks out at the sun setting below the treetops. "Sorry for asking, Song. I was just curious, and didn't mean any harm by my words."

Rowan nods, and cocks his head sideways. A rat runs by, and stops, aiming it's bow at him. Rowan dashes over, and pulls Song down below the battlement, just as an arrow flashes overhead. "I would, but now is not the time."

**A small scream breaks from Song's throat. She sees the rat's ugly grin as she is pulled down by her friend. She looks up and then ducks back down. She nods at Rowan and chances a questioning smile.** What do we do now?

"Well, first things first. We need to see if he has any 'friends' that intend to attack us when we go to kill him. Then, if he has no 'friends', we kill him. It may be primeval, and not so much of a complicated, or witty plan, but hey, it works." He smiles a small smile, and peers over the battlement. Now there are five rats standing there, watching for them to come up.

Maybe someone will come and help us? **She looks with her large frightened eyes at the rats. She is scared of vermin because she can't fight. She pulls her head back down as an arrow peirces her ear tip.**

Rowan mutters something under his breath, and looks at the group of ragged rats gathering. "Err, Song, do you have any weapons on your person right now? Like a dagger, or something?" The rats start to chant something, and Rowan snaps. Drawing to his full height, he takes the javelin he keeps strapped to his back, and hurls it. It takes a rat through the chest, which falls screaming.
