*The squirrel was happily walking down the Northern Path near the Fort of the Guardians of Mossflower. It was a typical summer day; hot, humid, and the sun shimmered beautifully through the canopy of the trees. The sun beat down on Woody's face, and he was sweating all over his body. The squirrel wore his basic green tunic, with a sheathe for his dagger, a belt for the sling, and a napsack for the herbs a typical Medic required. Most herbs lost a bit of their effectiveness after staying in a napsack, but it was better than having a wounded beast and running all over the woods to find the right medicine. He continued walking, his footpaws making a loud noise on the dirt path. He started to pass a bank of a river, slightly off the path. A pebble flew at him, but he did not notice it until it hit a tree behind him.
The squirrel froze and looked around. He walked closer to the river, and continued walking upstream. He did not quite understand what he was searching for, but Woody disliked random slingers. This had a water rat written all over it. He continued forward, and noticed little pawmarks. He followed the trail, until it got to the mouth of the river where it stopped and made a turn towards the water. Then the tracks were gone. Woody smirked, not angrily but very annoyed. Water suddenly splashed in is face, and a tail sunk back into the water. Now he was certain it was a water rat.
Woody looked to the other side, and his dark eyes peered back to the rocks. There she was. A little female water rat, hiding behind rocks. She made the mistake of looking over the rocks to spot him, though, and the squirrel saw her instantly. He pulled out his sling slowly, and bent down to pick up a big pebble. He loaded it onto the sling, and wound it back. Woody was waiting with enthusiasm, and then the water rat came from her hiding place in panic. Whip! He let it fly and it struck the pest on the back of her leg. The water rat made a screech of agony, and clutched the hurting spot.
Woody laughed racously, and rolled his dark beady eyes. The squirrel was quite satisfied, teaching a lesson to an annoying vermin who liked shooting travelers. He turned around, only to find an expecting group of Water Rats looking angrily at him. And a chief looking fellow who was quite unhappy.*
Uh-oh.
