Well, I can take a few swear words on the OOC Board thats censored by *s or _s like that, but in RPing? 1) Brian Jacques never used swearing. 2) Isn't kinda outta verse? 3) Its kinda offensive. I mean, I don't like to react, read, ect. with swears. I will not bring religion into this, I'm just pointing it out.

I must agree with Rina. The strongest swears should be basically, "Hellsteeth!" Or "Hellgates" Or something simalire.

I agree with both of you, but I also think that "Damn" and "Damnit" should be allowed as as well, as they aren't actual swear words. People think they are, but they aren't.

Um, if you don't mind me saying, BJ DID you a few swear words in the first book, Redwall. Basial said this, I think...
"Oh, you mean that damn little ass..." Blah Blah Blah... He said quite a mouthful for a children's series.
Out of verse? Not if they did it in the books.
Hm, it is indeed, BUT, can you go anywhere other than curch today and not see a swear word? I can't.
Raiden, you are right also.
In my opinion, you should be able to say things like Hellsteeth, Hellgates, Damn, Pestilence... Mild things. Espicially if your charrie is of the vermin side, or has been around many vermin in their life.
Also, if swearing is not allowed, nethier should sterotyping. And, as you've noticedc, BJ himself does alot of that.

Who's been swearing in RPs? Or is this just to prevent future occurences...?
I've used hellsteeth once while RPing. Damn/damnit is fine as well. Any more than that I think shouldn't be RPed. (Milder is fine) Not because it's swearing (we've all heard it before) but more because it's out of verse.

I admit, I say Pestilence, Damn/Damnit alot in RPs. But, eh, it comes nutrually for teens. And Girls. And Vermin. Esceialy Teenaged vermin girls. XD
How is it out of verse? BJ exactly put it in one of the books! See my above post for where... If that is out of verse, sterotyping should also be, but it's not.

That's true, Crystal has an excellent point *clapclap*, but Redwall was also something where he included cows, and horses, and signs of human activity. It looks like we're only respecting those after that one.

Aye, BUT, not many Redwall sites let you RP a wolf charrie, since it was only in one book (The Bellmaker, I think.). That, was indeed after Redwall. But, then again, there are sites, like this one, that let you have them.
Understand where I am going?

Very true. I would personally be against anything harsher than "hellgates" or "hellsteeth", or maybe even "bloody." (XD Which I still can't believe is a swear word... *laughs at Brits*) Not because of anything having to do with verse, but merely because I think Redwall RPs should be child-friendly, unless they specifically state otherwise. Redwall is a children's series for the most part, so I, at least, expect a certain degree of censorship when it comes to what I can read on sites that are based on it. I won't challenge some mild swearing, but only on occassions where it's called for. If your character's in a really intense situation, a swear word may be called for. Even I have used some swear words in my RPing that I would never use IRL, but only when Marie's really pushed to the limit, and then only because it's in character for her to do so. (By the way, I didn't meant that to say that I've used horrible words in my RPing, just that I'm really stubborn about not doing it IRL, so "crap" is taboo in my spoken vocabulary. XD)
So there's my two cents. I really don't have much else to say on the matter. *shrugs* Just keep it to a minimum around me, guys. My parents don't approve of cursing/swearing/anything of the like, and I agree most of the time, so...yeah. Out of courtesy, please try not to do it around me unless it's just unavoidable. =)

I dunno, *shrug*, it just seems to me a character yelling f--- or sh-- doesn't seem very in verse.

Personally, I agree with Marie's statement. I've gone through 4 years of RPing without swearing once at all. It's not too hard at all. And besides, there are children RPing here as well as adults *cough*, so it's on the safer side to keep things more toward general audience oriented.

I'm in agreement with all them anti-swearers. Even though I haven't exactly read the books, (oh no! D:) I have a feeling it's quite out of verse. With the whole wolf thing, even if they're only in one book, it was a book more like the rest of the series rather than Redwall itself. Besides, I don't even think 'crap' should be used, not because it's bad, but because it's a rather modern word, no?
