What ho the fort!
**Coming down the westen path, a grey wolf clad in grey came forth from the tree-cast shadows. Hung from his belt was a blacksmith's hammer and a relatively long straight-sword, while slung over his back was a scythe that had a crooked haft at it's base. Gone since the invasion, Horus Lupercal, had simpaly vanished as if he had never existed... It was a case of missing, presumed dead. But it wasn't to be, the wolf had simply gone westwards to help evacuees get away to Salamandastron.**
What ho! A lone wolf returning!

**A medium aged albino squirrel strode through the forest, actually he flew through the treetops. He was clad in a loose green tunic and pants. Slung across his back was his bow, along with his dirk in it's sheath, his quiver was next to the dirk. He saw ahead of him the end of the trees. He started to slow down, another clearing. To many dumb clearings He climbed out of the last tree in the woods and looked around, in the middle of the clearing was a fort.
The albino watched as a wolf walked into the fort, which was in great disrepair. Terrapa walked towards the fort, he went around the back. He scurried up a tree and jumped to the battlements of the fort, he looked around until he found stairs and climbed down. He walked around towards the building. He stopped suddenly and shrunk back around the corner, in the courtyard and on the battlements were creatures. A mouse, otter and a wildcat heading towards the opposite corner. In the courtyard were several otters and a wolf. On the battlements were three hares (Sorry if I missed somebody) He drew an arrow from the quiver and placed it on the bow string, though left it slack. He stepped into the courtyard and announced himself, guessing he could outrun most of them. "Are ye good beasts" The merc glanced around the courtyard, waiting for a response
Fishrudder stood and sheathed his own sword, deciding that this mouse meant good. He glanced and said "Me name be Fishrudder matey." He jumped at the wolf, retreating back into his corner, drawing his sword he pointed towards the wolf. He mumbled to Raiden A. U. Silversword VII. "Wolf"
He took a stone from his makeshift pouch and put it in the sling, he hadn;t used a sling since he was a young, when he lived with his family. He prepared to sling it at the wolf, he slowly started spinnig it in circles. The otter obviously didn't trust many. Just as he was about to sling it. A albino squirrel stepped into the courtyard from the opposite corner, it said
Are Ye good beasts?
He changed the direction to the squirrel and let it fly. The stone flew straight and true, striking the squirrel in the chest, not hard enough to kill him, but hard enough to hurt and leave a bruise.
What in hellsgates? **The squirrel said, he drew back the arrow and let it fly, right back at the young skinny broadshouldered otter. It struck the otter in the footpaw, piercing all the way through, sticking the otter to the ground.

An unfamiliar otter arrived on the scene. After having journeyed a long distance, Lore found herself here - wherever here was. She just hoped that she wouldn't be killed for intruding, which she quite clearl was doing. After all, this place resembled a Fort, and Forts generally contained warlike creatures. But, Lore decided to take her chances.
Taking a careful glance around, she took note of who was present. However, she did not make an effort to approach anybeast, preferring to take in her surroundings, and formulate her first impressions of the inhabitants.
One beast in particular caught her eye. He was an otter, but that was not what got her attention. He was fighting with a squirrel, and both seemed to be proficient warriors. Ah, warriors. Among warriors was where Lore felt most at home. It was the common thread binding them that made Lore feel this way. Creatures of peace had no idea of what warriors had to endure. Times of hardship and times of joy went hand-in-hand for a warrior. But even so, Lore still could not muster up the courage to address the otter and the squirrel. Maybe if she stood where she was for a long enough time, one or the other would notice her and begin a conversation. "Some warrior you are, Lore." She chastised herself, mentally. But her personality differed in battle and out of battle. This was one thing that always puzzled her. And yet it was part of her, even as her weapons were a part of her. "Get out of your head, Lore! You talk to yourself far too much." Maybe she didn't need anyone to talk to her; she and the voice in her head got along quite well. But, there was nothing better than conversation with someone else....

Wolf? Wait... I recognize that voice...
**Turning from the otter for a moment, Raiden shouted to the wolf just approaching the gates.**
HORUS!
**As the arrow from the squirrel flew passed the mouse to strick the otter, Raiden's sword came free as a reflex action to hostilities.**
What the? Whoever you are, you have no reason to attack any of us. Can't you see that we are all goodbeasts here?

Willowtail was now leaning against the wall and listening intently to the intruder that Raiden had found. He stood there, unmoving, with his whip still held ready in his paw. He kept his eyes closed until a wolf came forward from the main entrance. Opening them, he saw that the otter in the corner drew farther into the shadows as the wolf approached. In the newcomer's paws were a sling ready with a stone. Willowtail wouldn't take kindly to any sudden attacks. "Hoy, you. Put that sling away!" Willowtail stumbled backwards in surprise as the stone was flung upwards towards the ramparts. "What are you-" He stopped and knew from the yell that came from above. In response to the stone, an arrow shot down at the newcomer's footpaw. This time Willowtail had jumped out of the way and was now standing next to Raiden and the wolf. He cracked his whip up at the attacker.
Tasna heard all the commotion and looked in their direction. "What is going on over there?" She frowned and tooked a step towards the group when the sun reflected off of the fur of a creature in the ramparts. "Finn, we've got company. A lot of company." Tasna shouted up to where the three hares were standing, "Rina, keep those two down and out of range! We don't know how many there are or if they're vermin." Tasna looked back at Finnerator for orders. After all, she was the new Commander of the Guardians of Mossflower.

As the otter bolted out of the door just as she had wanted to, Nadia followed more slowly. The others would see him and corner him. When she finally got outside both Raiden and Willowtail were talking to the stranger. Her eyes flickered around, no longer caring about the new beast seeing as Rai seemed to have everything under control.
She stayed in the shadows, passively watching as more and more beasts started to show up. It was odd that all of them decided to show up on this day, the day that the Guardians returned. First came Horus and then a squirrel. The femme didn’t move as the rock and arrow were exchanged. She sighed and stepped back further away from the scene. Why did beasts always assume that if they asked if you were a goodbeast you would respond truthfully? It wasn’t really the best way to sort things out.
Tasna’s shouted orders brought the feline out of her thoughts. She wasn’t just a passerby anymore. This was her home. She was once again part of something. That meant she had to do something. The stairs up to the ramparts were right behind her. Nadia slipped up them, lightly as a lettuce leaf. One bound brought her up onto the top of the ramparts. She was fast approaching the squirrel, who was hopefully still occupied by the activity below. She stretched out her front paws for the last leap, landing on the ramparts behind the squirrel, blocking its access to the trees. Her dirk was out as her paw shot out to rest it against the back of the creature’s neck.

Will everybeast just CALM DOWN?!?!?
**Thrusting his sword back into the scabbard over his shoulder, Raiden steped between the two otters and the squirrel, paws out at each side.**
Nadia, remove your blade from the squirrel's neck. This has just gone out of control here...

**The squirrel growled at Raiden, and then snarled at the cat with the blade at his neck** Get yer stinkin paws at me, ye cat. He shot at me first. **He snarled, though not moving. He didn't want to get a kinfe in his neck.** Now will ye kindly get off of me. The dumb riverdog shot me 'irst.
He stepped out with an arrow on his bow... **He sentence faded off, embarrassed. The otter was already jumpy, this didn't help, now he felt bad. The broad shouldered otter slumped back into the shoulder...
OOC: Raiden, Terrapa is on the rooftops

OOC: Technically, Raiden would still be stepping between them.
BIC: I don't care about the little details. Fact is squirrels and otters are NOT on opposite sides. Without being here to see it, I can tell there has been too much bloodshed to let goodbeasts kill each other.

*The sea otter's conversation with Rinafera and his family was interrupted by the crack of a whip. She turned her head sharply to look towards the sound, her paw moving to her dirk in reflex. At the snap of Nadia's whip a skinny and unfortunate looking otter darted out of the shadows and around the building. Finnerator frowned in confusion as she quickly walked around from where she was standing with Rinafera to the other wall where she could see the otter hiding in the corner as well as the group gathering around him. She was confused for a couple of reasons; first, that, as it appeared to Finnerator, Nadia had threatened the beast without reason and second, that the otter was hiding in the shadows in the first place. Then again, she reasoned, the Guardians of Mossflower haven't exactly been friendly to goodbeasts in recent seasons. Perhaps the otter came expecting to find vermin and found honorable warriors instead. Or he could have his own reasons for slinking in the shadows*
*Raiden looked like he was getting somewhere in convincing the hapless beast that they were not enemies so Finnerator started her way down the steps to introduce herself and find out more about the strange otter. Then to compound the confusion, two more beasts arrived on the scene. Another Guardian, Horus, entered the building. Finnerator smiled at seeing another old acquaintance, but was didn't get a chance to greet him. Suddenly, the frightened otter whirled his sling, first looking at Horus then to a squirrel that had just appeared on the ramparts. The War Commander, startled by this reaction, shouted out a warning, but to no avail. The stone hit the albino squirrel square in the chest*
*Finnerator hoped to stop the situation then. She made a move towards the otter when an arrow came whizzing from the battlements to strike the otter in the footpaw. The Commander turned sharply back to look at the albino squirrel, this time with a mixture of confusion and annoyance because two people had just become injured under her supervision for no reason whatsoever. It was but for a moment, though, and she quickly remembered her responsibility and regained her composure*
*By this time, Nadia was up on the walls, ready to take down the squirrel and Raiden was trying to shout orders over the arguments that the two combatants were making. At that moment Finnerator did not feel like the leader she was supposed to be for these people. She resisted the urge to sigh as she took deliberate steps down the stairs and across the space between herself and the group of Guardians and the otter, taking a position where everybeast could see and hear her clearly*
EDIT: *Finnerator was annoyed at the actions of the two tresspassers, especially on this particular day when the Guardians were reunited. She did not want to be dealing with this problem at this moment. But she was really the only one with the authority to take care of it. The War Commander stood stiffly with her paws clasped behind her back as she tried her best to keep a cool expression to hide her annoyance and concern*
Nadia, please escort the squirrel down here where we can keep an eye on him. Raiden, don't let that one get away.
*She gave these orders calmly to keep people from shouting accusations again. Yelling never got anybeast anywhere. Now she had to see what happened next. Neither of them were Guardians so under normal circumstances she had no reason to help them when they tresspassed in their fort. Then again, these weren't exactly normal circumstances*

Right!
**When Finnerator had given Raiden his orders, Raiden snapped to it. Turning to face Fishrudder, he smiled somewhat apologeticly.**
Orders are orders mate. I have mine, so... Sorry about this...

“Nadia, remove your blade from the squirrel's neck. This has just gone out of control here...”
She sighed again, giving her head a little shake. Since when had Raiden become so trusting? Or maybe it was her. Hadn’t he just seen the squirrel shoot the arrow? The wildcatess ignored the things being shouted, including what the squirrel was snapping at her, instead waiting for Finnerator. And since when had squirrels and otters been on the same side? She’d met some pretty shady “goodbeasts” in the season she’d been gone. Things weren’t as cut and dried as they had used to seem.
Finnterator finally stepped out so that those on the ground and the ramparts could see her.
” Nadia, please escort the squirrel down here where we can keep an eye on him. Raiden, don't let that one get away.”
The feline was so unused to taking orders. It was strange, but she complied. She drew the dagger back from where it had been touching the squirrel’s neckfur and lowered it to her side. She hopped down from her perch and made a gesture towards the stairs. Her ears were still perked up and alert. Her tail twitched back and forth in a clear sign that she still did not consider the squirrel or the otter friendly.
“After you.”
Things were so strange. She really didn’t feel as if she knew any of her fellow Guardians anymore. Had they changed so much? It’s you. You know it’s you. She stopped. She didn’t like thinking that. She tapped a bare footpaw on the stones, waiting for the albino to start heading down the wall steps.

**Raiden had noticed the slow speed that Nadia had removed her blade from Terrapa's neck.**
Does she not trust my judgement anymore? I know what I was thinking, and I was pretty much in the middle of it anyway... No way could another arrow speed past me like last time...
Of course she doesn't. You're a liability.
Shut up.
True though... Cost you a friend this mind did in the Tournament.
LEAVE ME ALONE!
**Raiden's mind (or is it minds?) started argueing with itself over what had just happened, then had gone on to remind him about an event from months before.**

OOC: Is dat sum Davius, Raiden?
BIC: Sev walked down a dusty path, looking for anything edible. Slowly, she found some red berries on a bush. Picking them all off, save a few for the birds. Slowly, she walked down the road again, depositing many of the small berries in her rucksack slung loosely over one shoulder.
She came over to an odd fort, which looked like it had been the victim of an attack. Suddenly, Sev froze as she heard an argument break out from inside.
Sneaking up to the wall, Sev poked her head round. Seeing that all were goodbeasts (and hearing from the argument) she waited a little, but finally walked round, stopped a short distance from them, smiled and said to the nearest beast
"Hey... Don't I know you?"
